You’re a neo-Nazi if you think it is okay to be white… at least, that’s the narrative from the left.
The South Australian Advertiser printed this today:
“SIGNS emblazoned with a slogan linked to neo-Nazism, seen in Adelaide on Thursday, have been referred to South Australian police by Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young.
The signs, which feature the slogan “It’s OK to be white”, were placed around Adelaide on Thursday morning, including one outside Senator Hanson-Young’s electorate office.
On Twitter, Ms Hanson-Young said such “pro-Nazi slogans” weren’t welcome in Adelaide.
“This white supremacist slogan has no place in Adelaide and no place in 2018,” she told The Advertiser.
Ms Hanson-Young said thewhite supremacist slogan was a direct attack on the state’s welcoming, multicultural community.”
So, let’s address this. Because if you think this is about white supremacy or neo-Nazism, you have another thing coming.
It may come as a shock to a lot of people – but it is actually okay to be white.
I’ll pause for your gasps of horror.
But what’s probably more important is addressing why this phrase has come into existence.
You might want to sit down for this.
Caucasians are the only race not protected by screaming “racist!” and “xenophobe!” in response to criticism.
We are the only race that can be called out for the colour of our skin, shamed for the colour of our skin, demonized for the colour of our skin, and it is perfectly acceptable.
We are the race that is blamed for all the ills in the world, and the race that must continue to be apologetic for our very existence – and let’s not forget that we must continue apologizing for the things our ancestors did. Although, really, find me a single race of people who didn’t maim and slaughter others, and then we’ll talk.
And let’s be fairer still, white men cop it the worst. Being a white man in 2018 is about the same as being a baby-murdering-axe-killer. No exaggeration.
This narrative has brought you ideas like, “white privilege”, it has brought you ideas like, “all white people are racist”.
And it’s not okay any more.
So, if you’re wondering why we’re at the point why people feel like it is necessary to say, “it’s okay to be white”, you’re not paying attention to the social rhetoric.
For all intents and purposes, according to the media, politicians, left-wing personalities and gutless right-wing personalities: it is NOT okay to be white. And it is NOT okay to be proud of your culture, skin and background if you ARE white.
If you’re proud? You’re a GOSH-DARN WHITE SUPREMACIST!
So, it seems as though someone one day felt like enough was enough.
Many white people are sick of being demonized for the sins of others. There’s also a lot of us who are sick of other white people being the loudest voices in hating us, as if that will somehow erase their whiteness.
None of us chose to be born this way, just like nobody else chose to be born Asian or Black.
And if the same narrative that is applied to whites was applied to anyone else, it would be considered racism.
This has nothing to do with neo-Nazism, it has nothing to do with white supremacy.
These signs are about as neutral as you can get. It’s giving permission for people to just exist as they’ve always done, without feeling guilty for how they look.
This white-hating narrative needs to stop.
Even if the original concept of this slogan was nefarious, it resonates with normal, everyday, non-political people. Why? Because there is only so much constant and ongoing abuse that can be had before something gives.
The media, the left, the politicians still don’t understand that the more they make this into a problem, the more they shame a simple statement, the more they lose ground.
Let me be clear: I’m not saying that Caucasians need adopt some sense of racial tribalism. I’m not even saying Caucasians need to be proud of their race.
All I’m saying is there is a reason this slogan has meaning. And that meaning is compounded by the ongoing shaming of whites.
And, in case there was any doubt: it’s perfectly okay to be white.
